Bacon Wrapped Burger Onion Bombs
Ingredients
- 1lb. ground beef
- 1 cup shredded white cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. Sizzle & Sugar rub (by Circle K Angus Farm)
- 1egg
- 1 onion cut in half and peel apart layers, then pair together matching layers (each layer pair makes a ball shape)Â
Instructions:
- Preheat grill/smoker
- Thoroughly mix first six ingredients together in a bowl
- Shape meat mixture into medium sized meatballs. Match the size of the meatball with the onion so that you have a nice snug fit.
- Pair the matching onion halves so that it seals up the meatball nicely.
- Wrap with 3-4 pieces of bacon.
- Brush your favorite BBQ sauce and dust with more Sizzle & Sugar rub.
- Place them on a tray lined with butcher paper and then into the grill/smoker.
- Grill/smoke them for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. When the sauce starts to candy up, they are ready.
- Let them rest for ten minutes before serving!
